DHS Director Howard Hendrick announced during today’s Human Services Commission meeting that he will retire at the end of February after 13-years as the head of the agency.
Hendrick told the commissioners that if he doesn’t stop now, he never will. When he started to choke back his tears, someone in the audience shouted “We love you, Howard!” which was followed by a standing ovation from the crowd and commissioners.
Check back with Oklahoma Watchdog later in the day for more on this story and other news from the meeting.

This is the best news I have heard in a long time. I only hope that they replace him with somebody who really cares about children instead of the money they are worth. This man has the blood of so many dead children on his hands I hope that God now gives him what he truly deserves. I hope God makes him suffer like so many children have had to suffer because of his actions. In my opinion this man is no better then Hitler himself.

I’m so sorry to hear this news. Howard is a tremendous leader and a strong Christian who has taken this state agency and turned it around. The people who are faulting Howard do not know the history of the agency, nor do they know the magnitude of this agency. Howard, by far had the most difficult job in the entire state. Blessings to you Howard and thank you for truly caring about the children of Oklahoma and for your leadership. You will be greatly missed.
